How to build a computer for beginners-a simple guide to building your first desktop-PC

Research, research, research is key to building the first computer.

In a nutshell, you must:

1.) find out all the necessary components and parts.
2.) a list of the specific make and model you will buy for each part, certainly they are all compatible with each other.
3.) The parts buying and carefully read the manuals. you must know how to fit everything in before mounting.
4.) compile everything together, be careful not to damage anything by static or mishandling.
5.) power up and troubleshoot the hardware.
6.) learn from the motherboard BIOS.
7.) the operating system and other software.

Step 1: components

You need at least the following:

-Case
-Motherboard
-Processor
-RAM
-Hard disk
-Nutrition
-Optical device (CD, DVD or BluRay reader and/or writer)
-Cool Solutions (Case fans and heat Sync)
Mouse and keyboard
-Monitor

Depending on the motherboard features will probably need the following as well as:

-Graphics card
-Sound card
-Ethernet card

For Assembly, you must have:

Computer Tool Kit or screwdrivers
Anti-static precautions (wrist band, possibly a mat)

Step 2: check your list

For each component above, online and check for deals. good sites for researching and buying computer components are newegg.com and tigerdirect.com.In General, the "bleeding edge" parts which are the newest and most powerful are not priced to sell.A good rule of thumb is to buy parts just behind the bleeding edge, where the price/performance ratio is more balanced.

When you create a share that you want to find, bookmark and check it against the other parts on your bookmark list. You must make sure that everything is compatible with everything. compatibility is a problem where physically connected or "jumps" and another part, with regard to energy consumption and processing requirements.

Step 3: share and read manuals Collection

When you have selected from each component and double checked for compatibility, you can start buying. it is a good idea to wait to purchase your parts until you get a full list in mind.In this way, if you are on a critical piece of your mind, you still have time to select the other parts accordingly.

After you have started, you should buy all the product manuals carefully. you will want to know exactly how to assemble everything before actually doing it., show the actual components in their packaging right until you begin to put it all together. Many of the components are sensitive to static, dust and other elements.

Step 4: Assembly

This can take several hours to complete, especially if it was the first computer. make sure you have a clear, cool, dry place with good lighting and no distractions. you'll screwdrivers and static protection.

Start with the case and case manual. likely the case guide explain where to put the motherboard and how to attach it to the case. consult the manuals of the motherboard and/or processor to install the processor on the motherboard. then you will want to check out your manuals for installing the processor fan/heat sync, so that the processor is protected.

From here do not have many of the components to be installed in any particular order. The most important rule of thumb is to install them in such a way as to prevent further blocking the installation of other parts. If the power supply, optical drive and hard disk is larger in size, you should consider places in these parts before the smaller pieces such as RAM. The maps for sound, images, and Ethernet must come to an end.

If everything is in place, then start by connecting the various cables and plugs in order not to block the airflow. When the internal components are finished, sealing the computer and the monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Step 5: Powering up

This is the moment of truth. double and triple check everything. When you click the button of the case, the first thing to check the processor fan. The processor is the most heat sensitive part, and it can bake in seconds if the processor looks good, the other case fans quickly check to ensure that they are as good spiders. If the fans not spin or you see like smoke, cutting the power ASAP.

If the power is turned on, you must also have or that you don't get on the inside of the case. ONLY TOUCH THE INSIDE OF THE CASE, IF THE COMPUTER IS NOT CONNECTED!

If all goes well, will monitor the motherboard business name or other statistics display. If everything is not good, your guides and resolve.

Step 6: motherboard BIOS

If the manual with the motherboard no detailed instructions of the BIOS contains, find them online. the BIOS is the base system stored on the motherboard that the order in which the components startup determines, the temperature and the power settings and other data to your computers function.

As a beginner would you most of the BIOS settings as they were set by the manufacturer's attention to the system temperature to ensure that your components don't bin, and the boot sequence.

Step 7: operating system

For installation of an operating system, you will want to boot from the disc. it's a pretty simple process of following all the instructions on the screen instructions. at the end of the process, and remove the disc to ensure that the computer boots up the operating system on its own. Then will you be able to install other software as needed.

Congratulations on building the first computer!
