Simple computer buying guide

If your computer is older than 4 years is your probably in the market for a new if not now, soon. Buying a new computer is not rocket science and is easier than you think for the average person. If you're not going to play high end games makes things even easier to choose a new computer. We accompany you to your new computer with a few options that you have to choose the right computer for you will allow.

Processor
Has speed really matter? It does if you play video games or very large spreadsheets, edit or running intensive applications. You can probably tell what programs need more power to perform.Surfing on the Internet, using Microsoft Office home, and upload and edit images, not a lot of power. you should not buy a top of the line computer if you are just an ordinary computer user because it would be like to throw your money away. a dual-core processor will plenty of power for the average computer user.

Memory
How much memory is enough? The simple answer is 4 GB. Memory plays a very important role in how fast your computer is running. If your memory runs out, your computer will be carried out at a snail's pace.4 GB is a good amount of as of this writing, and must be for the next 2 years. When buying a new computer would you look at the speed of the memory DDR2 or DDR3. don't be concerned with the numbers after the memory type because you will not notice the difference. how fast is DDR3 on DDR2? Its not visible to the average computer user so once again, it really doesn't matter. What counts is how much you have in your computer and 4 GB is a sufficient amount.

Hard disk
How big of a hard disk do I need? That depends on how many pictures, videos, music and documents. The size of the hard disk will not make your computer a slower or faster. What matters is the speed of the hard disk. Home computers usually come in just 2 speeds-5400 RPM and 7200 rpm. This speed makes a small difference in how fast your computer can read data from it.A 5400 RPM hard will be fine for the casual computer user. Here you see the biggest difference when copy and open large files.

Graphics card
If you don't play and not have very high resolutions, the video card is not important.Budget computers is running almost everything except the high end games. There are other considerations that you should worry about video cards. Some have TV and video inputs and outputs that you can but outside the scope of this article.

Network
Getting the latest and fastest wireless network card is not always necessary.Wireless B, G and N will all run the Internet at the same speed as you have a good signal. the advantage of the higher speed wireless N is when you share files on your home network and the distance the wireless signal can travel in this article (b) and (g) are standard and are equipped with wireless adapters now with N quickly as the new standard.I recommend to N only for the distance improvements. the same applies to the Ethernet 10/100/1000. you will not take advantage of the 1000, unless you have a home network and file sharing.

CD/DVD drive
Most computers now come as standard with CD/DVD burning discs. If your computer says that the "DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support" than what you need if you're looking for blue-ray. I would stay away from them until the prices go down more and more of a standard in the world. look for the DVD burn speed of the device if you want to burn to DVD faster.

Other
Some other features to look for its built-in webcams, media readers, other inputs and the computer is shipped with additional software. some now come with Bluetooth that can also benefit.

After you have purchased
When you connect your new computer at home, don't forget to remove all the bloatware that most manufacturers on new computers. Also, uninstall Norton antivirus and get a product that won't hog your new computer and it seems like a slow. I recommend ESET NOD32, because it is a very light and powerful antivirus and firewall. be wary of people trying to sell you something else for your computer such as some of the big box stores do not scare you into buying things you get for free or cheaper. can take your computer to a trusted local computer repair shop and fair service getting people who really care and support for your community.
